That's how the story goes....

I don't know when was the last time I felt romantic. I guess I haven't felt that lately. Maybe because I haven't had a chance to have a taste of it. But now the weather's been colder and the mood's been warmer, I guess the sounds of Chet Baker are seemingly more nearby.

Plus, I heard Norah Jones' "The Story" on the radio.

I still haven't seen "My Blueberry Nights" yet due to many plan changes, but I still look forward to seeing it. That's the kind of movie I've always liked. I love wkw. And to have such a touching theme song on top of it is just an icing on the cake.

The playful bass intro and the tinkling piano touches of Norah already set the mood of the song, and then her vocal appears. It just melts my heart.

I've always loved Norah's vocal since her first album. I even kindly endorsed her second and third more disappointing albums simply b/c they are not all bad and they show her capability. But it was her "Little Willies" project and her collaboration with Ray Charles on "Here We Go Again" that made me realize what a great artist she is. I also saw her live a couple of times. The second time was a plus b/c she was traveling with Little Willies. I was amazed by how at ease she was and how strong her voice was in front of a conventional microphone.

See my entry on Little Willies way back when.

And now with "The Story," she has really surpassed herself and created a masterpiece. It is this very song I feel romantic again!

There's still hope!
